Magee’s Junior and Senior Jazz bands performed at the West Coast Jazz Festival on April 30th, 2024 at Vancouver Island University. The festival was sold out and full of a variety of high schools from across British Columbia. Magee’s students were professional throughout the event. The senior jazz was awarded Gold, and the junior jazz was awarded Silver. Both ensembles have been invited to perform in the Nationals in 2025 that will take place in Toronto. Several students in both ensembles were acknowledged as being outstanding soloists including Ben Cai, Sadie Koshan and Cannon Mulder.
